The idea of AI Agent, which refers to an intelligent software system that can understand its environment and autonomously perform actions on behalf of the user or machine to achieve its goals, was conceived in the 1980s. However, this concept only started gaining traction from the 2010s when the rise of deep learning and large language models (LLMs) demonstrated their abilities to understand and generate human-like responses.
