Hong Kong, November 3, 2026 — HashKey Group (3887.HK), a leading Asian digital asset company, today announced that, it is among the first institutional clients to adopt Standard Chartered’s newly launched institutional tokenised deposit solution. HashKey is using the solution to support its institutional treasury management and settlement use cases.
Tokenized deposits are the digital representations of commercial bank deposits on the blockchain. Built on Standard Chartered’s blockchain infrastructure, they enable eligible clients, such as HashKey to use their bank deposit balances within an approved blockchain-based environment, while retaining the characteristics of commercial bank money. By combining the trust of bank deposits with blockchain-enabled programmability, speed and extended availability, Standard Chartered’s tokenized deposits can facilitate near real-time movement of funds, and support more efficient cross-border liquidity management with extended availability.
For HashKey, which operates across multiple jurisdictions, the ability to move liquidity across markets outside traditional banking hours is particularly important. While digital asset activity takes place around the clock, the movement of funds between HashKey’s entities has traditionally been constrained by banking cut-off times. Tokenised deposits help bridge this gap by enabling near real-time, extended-hours movement of funds, giving HashKey greater flexibility to manage treasury positions across markets and entities, reduce funding friction and deploy working capital more efficiently in support of its global operations.
Haiyang Ru, CEO of the HashKey Exchange BG, stated: “As more assets move on-chain, fund and settlement systems also need to evolve synchronously. The significance of tokenized deposits lies in connecting funds within the banking system more directly to the on-chain environment. Being among the first institutional clients to adopt Standard Chartered’s newly launched tokenised deposit solution is an important step in strengthening HashKey’s institutional financial infrastructure. We look forward to exploring more efficient fund-flowing methods with global financial institutions, providing more comprehensive infrastructure support for institutions participating in on-chain finance.”
Mark Willis, Head of Emerging Payments, Transaction Services and Digital Assets, Standard Chartered, said: “Tokenised deposits can play an important role in connecting commercial bank money with the digital asset ecosystem, giving clients greater flexibility in how they move and manage liquidity across markets. Our work with HashKey demonstrates how this technology can support near real-time, extended-hours movement of funds, helping clients manage treasury and liquidity more efficiently while supporting their digital asset activities. This is about bringing the trust of bank deposits together with the speed and programmability of blockchain to solve real-world treasury needs.”
In recent years, HashKey has continuously promoted the construction of institutional-grade digital asset infrastructure, expanding its business network with its “Asia Interconnected” strategy, and deepening its business layout and financial connections in major Asian markets. Relying on the group’s cross-jurisdiction compliant license layout, institutional customer service capabilities, and continuously expanding global financial institution partnership network, HashKey continues to expand channels for institutional funds to enter the digital asset market, enhancing cross-market capital management, trading, and settlement capabilities.
Based on HashKey’s long-term business experience in serving institutions and professional investors, HashKey will further improve its global treasury management capabilities, strengthen the infrastructure connection between the traditional financial system and the digital asset market, and provide more efficient fund-flowing support for tokenized assets and other on-chain financial applications. In the future, HashKey will continue to deepen cooperation with global financial institutions, explore the practical applications of tokenized deposits in institutional business, and promote the further connection between the traditional financial system and on-chain financial markets.
