We are pleased to announce that HashKey has joined the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Digital Assets Advisory Services Industry Working Group, becoming the first Asian digital asset service provider to do so. HashKey joins alongside more than 100 of the world’s leading financial institutions, asset managers, and digital asset firms — including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq, and the New York Stock Exchange — to help define how tokenised assets are issued, settled, and safeguarded at institutional scale.
HashKey’s Path to Tokenisation
HashKey is an established comprehensive digital asset group in Asia, with capabilities across three core segments: transaction facilitation, asset management, and on-chain infrastructure. It continues to deepen its strategic footprint in global financial markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Bermuda. Since 2023, HashKey has been actively engaged in tokenisation initiatives across Hong Kong and other markets across Asia-Pacific, including participation in the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s (HKMA) Project Ensemble Architecture Community, and the Tokenised Bond Expert Group.
HashKey has also supported clients through the issuance and circulation of tokenised money market ETFs, bonds, and notes in one of Asia’s most closely regulated financial centers.
DTCC is a core post-trade infrastructure service provider in the global financial markets. Its subsidiary, The Depository Trust Company (DTC), is one of the world’s largest central securities depositories, with custody of assets exceeding US$114 trillion.
The Industry Working Group was formed to connect Traditional Finance (TradFi) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi), convening banks, custodians, exchanges, and digital asset infrastructure providers to determine how tokenised securities integrate with the systems that already run global capital markets. Its scope covers everything from the technical standards for representing entitlements on-chain to the operational and compliance frameworks that will let tokenised assets move through custody, settlement, and collateral systems the same way traditional securities do today.
On July 15, 2026, DTCC completed its first batch of tokenised production-environment transactions based on DTC-custodied assets, covering core business scenarios such as collateral pledging, securities lending, U.S. Treasury repo delivery-versus-payment (DVP) transactions, and equity token transfers. It plans to officially launch standardized tokenised services in October, driving tokenised assets to fully integrate into mainstream capital market infrastructure systems. It’s a trajectory that mirrors HashKey’s own approach to building next-generation financial infrastructure.
Through the Industry Working Group, HashKey will bring its regulatory and operational experience across Asia-Pacific into the shaping of global tokenisation standards — helping ensure that as capital markets move on-chain, they do so on terms that are efficient, compliant, and built to last. Tokenisation is no longer a question of if, but how fast and how well it integrates with the systems the world already trusts. HashKey intends to be part of that transition, and looks forward to shaping it alongside the Industry Working Group members.
