Hong Kong, Mar. 7, 2024 – HashKey Group (“HashKey” or “the Group”), a leading end-to-end digital asset financial services group in Asia<\/strong>, is pleased to announce its participation in Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s (“HKMA”) new wholesale Central Bank Digital Currency (wCBDC) Project “Ensemble”. As a trusted partner and pioneer in the Hong Kong virtual asset industry, HashKey will actively explore innovations for an interoperable technical framework and design solutions for tokenised asset issuance and management to help lay the groundwork for a robust and secure wCBDC network.<\/span><\/p><\/div>

The HKMA-led wCBDC project aims<\/strong> to support the development of tokenised deposits and assets in Hong Kong to establish next-generation financial markets infrastructure.<\/span><\/p><\/div>

“Wholesale CBDCs offer financial institutions access to a digital form of central bank money, making central bank money programmable to support automation and mitigate risks,” explained Dayong Zhang, CCO of HashKey Group.<\/strong> “This fundamentally improves the efficiency and speed of interbank and cross-border settlements, reducing settlement times and complexity, and enhancing the interaction between fiat currencies and digital assets.”<\/span><\/p>
