Hong Kong, May.11, 2023 \u2013 <\/strong>Organised by HashKey Digital Asset Group Limited<\/a> (\u201cHashKey<\/strong>\u201d or \u201c\u96c6\u5718<\/strong>“), Alibaba Cloud and PlatON, co-organised by Hong Kong Cyberport (\u201cCyberport<\/strong>\u201d), the Web3 Global Startup Competition \u201cHapathon\u201d has brought to a successful close. The competition has provided various platforms and opportunities for participating Web3 startups and projects to connect with the community and potential investors.<\/span><\/p><\/div>

The competition took place from March to April in four major Asia cities – Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, and have attracted more than 1,000 founders and developers from over 200 outstanding startups and Web3 projects from all around the world. The total prize of the competition was over USD 200,000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>

Apart from the opportunity to present their projects and products to a judging panel consisting of potential investors, academic experts, professional developers and engineer, winner of each location are awarded an opportunity to showcase their project at the 2023 Hong Kong Web3 Festival – the flagship Web3 event in Asia attracted more than 50,000 visitors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>

Being the co-organiser of Hapathon, Cyberport has given tremendous support to this competition and the winners. The organisers and three winning teams from different locations have been invited by Cyberport to join a panel discussion moderated by Mr Hendrick Sin<\/strong>, Co-founder and the Vice Chairman of CMGE Technology Group Limited; Board Member of Cyberport, at the Digital Economy Summit, to explore how startup competitions such as Hapathon and the Hong Kong Government\u2019s policies have helped Web3 startups to develop their business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>

Cyberport will provide the winning teams a fast track to the vetting presentation stage of Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF) or Cyberport Incubation Programme (CIP) (subject to further eligibility review).<\/span><\/p><\/div>

Junfu Yang from ZK-Match, the Grand Champion of Hapathon, said, \u201cHapathon has offered us platforms to get access to potential investors and professionals from the industry that are difficult for us to get connected with. We are happy to have the chance to interact and learn from the judges of the competition, they have given us a lot of valuable suggestions and insights to improve our projects. We are also grateful to the support from the Hong Kong Government and Cyberport on the development of Web3 innovation.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/div>

Asher Li, Web3 Project Director from Parallel HK, Champion of Hong Kong competition, said, \u201cIt was an awesome experience participating in Hapathon. We are happy that HashKey Group, Alibaba Cloud and PlatON are so dedicated to and have invested abundant resources to support Web3 startups. I hope Hapathon will continue to run in a greater scale to attract more startups and projects for them get decent exposure and connections from different aspects.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>
