Hong Kong, Apr. 6, 2024 <\/strong>–<\/strong>Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2024, hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group and organized by W3ME, was officially held on April 6th at Hall3FG, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div>

With the event taking place in the innovation-rich city of Hong Kong, the Web3 Festival 2024 converges East and West ideologies. It sets four regular conference areas and an open stage, providing an avenue for eclectic discussions around Web3, idol performance, Web3 professional esports tournament, and more.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The event started with an opening address delivered by Lu Weiding, Deputy to the People\u2019s National Congress, Vice Chairman to All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Chairman and CEO of Wanxiang Group, who clarified his strong belief and commitment to Web3\u2019s future in Hong Kong. He said, \u201cOver the past two years, Hong Kong has evolved into one of the most important global hubs of virtual assets. With the blockchain industry experiencing its 1995 moment, Hong Kong economy will see the fastest-growing years.\u201d<\/p>

Under the backdrop of a decreasing traditional economy and the approval of Bitcoin ETF in the United States\u201d, Web3 is witnessing a sparkling burst of innovations and vitality. Michael Wong Wai-lun, GBS, JP, Acting Financial Secretary, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said in the opening ceremony that Hong Kong mainly supports two important sectors in Web3, which are virtual assets trading platform and Web3 developers. The Hong Kong government is planning to bring OTC trading of virtual assets under the rule of law, and will allow allow intermediaries to offer trading of eligible virtual assets, futures and ETFs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
